    Although most fan palms are house plants and will mostly be found in large interior scape because of their size and spread, the Rhapis Palm is well suited to life in the home. It has more of an upright growth habit than many other fan palms. Rhapis are some of the easiest palms to grow, but each species has its own particular environment and culture requirements.Both 6 and 8 inch pots can be used as table top and accent plants, while 10 inch and up are free standing specimens.

    Planting and care

    Sunlight: Dappled light is best during the summer. In winter, it can tolerate light shade.
    Soil: Rhapis will grow in almost any well-drained soil, but prefer a soil mixture. Soil density should be firm and allow water to slowly filter through. All roots and the base of canes should be covered to retain moisture. Use pebbles or sand to increase drainage
    Water: Water liberally during the summer, ensuring perfect drainage. In winter, reduce watering to once a month or every other week, depending on the temperature.
    Temperature: Plant works best between -5°C to 38°C.
    Fertilizer: For fertilizer dosage, leaf colour is one of your best guides: Rich green indicates fertilizer levels are adequate. Slight overall yellowish colour may mean the to apply nutrients.
